The Story

If you've brought your dog here over the years — I'm the same hands you remember.

I started grooming at this shop more than two decades ago. I worked here for 22 years as a groomer — learning every breed, every coat, every nervous puppy and every senior dog that needed a little extra patience.

About three years ago, when my former boss Martha Burlin decided to step back, I bought the shop from her. Same location. Same tools. Same way of doing things — careful, calm, never rushed.

A lot of my long-time clients still don't know I'm the new owner. We lost some folks during COVID when we were short-staffed, and the neighborhood has filled up with new grooming places — some run by people who've never actually held the clippers themselves. I want word to get out: same shop, same hands, just a new name on the deed.

If you used to bring your dog here years ago and drifted away — I'd love to see you again. And if you're new to Greenwich — welcome. Come meet your dog's new groomer.

Why “starting at” prices?

Because dogs are not products. A first-time bath on a calm Yorkie is different from grooming a matted Goldendoodle who hasn't been brushed in three months. Our pricing reflects what it actually takes to do right by your dog:

  • Coat condition. Matted, knotted, or extra-shaggy coats take more time and more product.
  • Size & breed. Bigger dogs and dense double-coats take longer to bathe, brush, and dry.
  • Behavior. Nervous or first-time dogs need extra patience — and we always give it.
  • Special requests. De-shedding treatments, paw balm, teeth brushing — small add-ons we'll quote up front.

Our promise: we always quote you the exact price before we start. If anything changes during the groom, we call you. No surprises at pickup.

Things people ask

Quick answers.

How long does a full groom take?

Usually 1.5 to 3 hours depending on size, coat, and how busy we are. We'll give you an estimated pickup time when you drop off.

Do you work with nervous or first-time dogs?

Absolutely — most of our long-term clients started out nervous. Cathy has 25 years of experience easing dogs into the process. Just let us know what to watch for.

Can I get an exact price before booking?

Yes. Call us at (203) 531-5677 or describe your dog when you book online. We'll quote you exactly. Final price is confirmed when we see your dog — and never changes without telling you first.

Do you do car-side pickup?

Yes — if you'd rather not come in, just call when you pull up and we'll come out to your car. It's a service we offer especially for our regulars.

What if my dog has special needs or anxiety?

We hear you. Let us know on booking and we'll plan around it — quieter time slots, extra breaks, or whatever your dog needs to feel safe.

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes — actively. The shop has been here since 1986 and Cathy is rebuilding the client base after a slow period. New dogs (and people) are very welcome.
